Would it be possible to be secretly bombing Iran....
particularly their "secret" research facilities without the media knowing about it? Without it being reported?

1. you mean, like, bomb it and then claim they had a massive earthquake?
like maybe a few weeks ago? I've wondered the same thing, but I think geophysicists can tell the difference between an earthquake and massive bombing and Bush isn't going to be able to shut up all the seismograph operators in the world.

2. Is that a rhetorical question?

Because it not, it should be. Unfortunately for all of us, the answer is ... DUH.

On edit: It might not be reported in THIS country, but hopefully BBC and other international broadcasts would pick it up. (And then our sucky MSM would probably brand it "wild speculation.")

5. Iran would make a stink, don't you think?
On the one hand: I certainly hope and pray that our military is capable of bombing strategic targets without the media ever hearing about it. If we can't carry that out, then we don't have any kind of operation security whatsoever.

On the other hand: If one of Iran's secret facilities suddenly went "boom", I bet Iran would start fussing about it.

6. They were bombing iraq before the war
trying to make Saddam fight back so they could go for his throat. Sure they are bombing. And how much do your think the American public is privileged to be informed on top secret clandestine operations. We just get to pay for it.

7. They didn't try to keep that secret, though
We bombed Iraq weekly for over a decade.

8. Don't know about bombing, but
Scott Ritter gave a talk in June last year, where he said US forces were already operating in Iran at that time, a year ago. It's a good talk and a good QA session. You can purchase a CD and transcript of the talk or download an mp3 version for free here:

http://www.traprockpeace.org/scott_ritter_23june05.html

(He also claims US forces were doing their work in Iraq in 2002, and to me it looks like he know swhat he's talking about. It's a highly recommended listen.)

9. No chance. They want as much publicity as they can get so
they can raise the ire of every single muslim in the world. Believe me, when we nuke em, you'll hear about it.

10. I'd think we'd notice their counterattack.
On a seismometer, if you haven't got a television.
