Congressman: Abramoff a 'good person'
:wtf:

WASHINGTON (AP) -- Rep. Dana Rohrabacher came to the defense of disgraced former lobbyist Jack Abramoff on Monday, saying he's a good person who has been unjustly criticized.

"They're portraying Jack as a monster. I see him more as a good person who's done bad things and has to be punished for doing bad things," Rohrabacher, a California Republican and longtime friend of Abramoff, said in a phone interview.

"I think that he obviously has done some things that are wrong and illegal and he's going to have to pay the price for it," Rohrabacher said. "I think that a lot of other things that have been characterized as corruption on the part of Abramoff are actually standard operating procedures for lobbying in Washington, D.C. -- arranging trips and things like that.

>>snip

I wonder if this means that Rohrabacher will be on the list of indicted soon!

15. While I think Abramoff is scum
I disagree with your premise that "good" people don't do bad things.

See we are all human and we all do bad things sometimes.

Some do more bad than good, and some do more good than bad.

But none are perfect.

And what makes us "good people" is that we strive for good things more often than we strive for bad.

And to reach into the spiritual, we are all imperfect in the eyes of the creator, and yet we are perfect in the eyes of the creator.

16. A person is entitled to a mistake or two.
But a person who cheats, lies, steals, and is a bigot is by no real definition a "good person." I don't think striving counts for much, honestly.

But I don't think being a bad person means you have no human worth, either.

Who said it? the guy who was married to Julia Roberts whose name escapes me, and I'll say it about Abramoff: "God loves you, but I don't."

11. Good for Rohrabacher. He loves both Jack AND the Taliban.
Great friendships he's got there. :eyes:

He's got a great photo with the Taliban.

Is there one available with Jack, too?

Keep talking, Dana. Keep talkin'.
