I just heard our big, brave president will be speaking to Vets today.
Wow, he's taking another big chance by talking to a well-screened, fawning audience that is in total agreement with his policies of killing young Americans to feed the profits of oil conglomerates.

What a brave little man.

:sarcasm:

1. So how come these vets are complacent?
No really forget all that we have to show respect no matter wha crap, if these vets sit there and nod and applause my respect for them goes out the window-they condone and are okay with young people fighting wars and dying and being maimed for nothing-just like their friends were no doubt and they stand there and applaud it?

I know not every vet fits the description that above, however the ones that do I ask them what the hell did they risk their lives for? the whole time while they were under fire they dreamt of an America that spyed on its own citizens and sent more poor kids off to die for greedy old men?

3. Wonder how they feel about him having "been to war"
raising two daughters . . . and you know, as a true Repuke, he had nothing to do with "raising" them (other than passing along the substance abuse habits) . . .

4. must be great to get applause from those that have no choice
but to applaude when their commanders order them to. What a sterling and upright resident we have, so full of honor. Daddy bushit must be proud.
Do I really need the sarcasm smilie?

5. The BushCo choreographers will have rehearsed the crowd well.

So that all the "impromptu" Q&A's and all the rounds of applause will be according to script.

6. Here's one veteran
who would moon * if I had the chance. Now that *mooning* has been ruled a legal form of protest.

7. I don't understand
why any veteran who fuflfilled his/her obligation would have any respect for the man, much less want to be in the same room. I fulfulled my term of service with the military; why couldn't/shouldn't he?

8. The fact that he's speaking to vets
is offensive to me, as a veteran, to allow that deserter an audience.

All he has to do is produce a copy of his DD-214 Record of Discharge, which can be easily obtained by writing to the National Military Records Office (NMRO) in St. Louis. He can't because it isn't there! Sorry deserting chickenhawk rat bastard.

9. Would one of these vets please ask
Bush why our troops weren't given the armor needed to prevent, according to the Pentagon's own research, over 80% of the fatalities caused by wounds to the upper torso?
So much for "support the troops".
These vets should honor our troops by insisting Bush answer questions. Real questions.

10. Will Bill be there?

Bill Moyer, 73, wears a "Bullshit Protector" flap over his ear while President George W. Bush, on screen at rear, addresses the Veterans of Foreign Wars at their 106th convention Monday, Aug. 22, 2005, in Salt Lake City.
