Kerry could have mounted a legit challenge to the Ohio results that would have stood up in Ohio and Federal courts and have been anything other than a giant waste of money and time.
That said, I'd vote Kerry.

Kerry may be coming around now but I need someone willing to fight and say what needs to be said, even when it's not the popular thing. He needs to stay where he is right now and continue the work he's doing and allow those full of fire, concern and fearlessness to pull this country back together, to help us remember what we as a country stand for.

There isn't a lawmaker alive who has taken on more unpopular stands than John Kerry has, or effected this nation's REAL history more positively than John Kerry has.
You are welcome to try and name someone. I like Feingold fine for what he HAS done - but NO ONE has spearheaded tougher issues in the senate than Kerry has and I will not allow anyone to get away with saying something that distorts Kerry's record.

Feingold would probably be more will to *fight* for things I believe in, but Kerry would have a better chance of *winning* for them, and as such I think he'd make the better candidate. If it were to choose a president rather than a candidate, I'd probably vote for Feingold, though.

I think there's a strong case to be made that Feingold would make a better president if he actually got elected, but Kerry is sufficiently more electable to make him a considerably better candidate.
Feingold would bring the Republican voters out in droves, to an even greater extent than Kerry did, I think, and probably also do less well at attracting floating moderates. His main appeal is among the most left-wing voters, as I understand it, and Kerry has proved that he can attract them too.

I really don't think he would have a chance in the general election. They would paint him as a total dove who will let you die so that terrorists have their civil rights. And they would succeed, unfortunately.
But he would be the best president regardless of how I would vote.

I think Sen. Feingold is an excellent advocate for change and a very good Senator. I just like Kerry better. But both men are good Democrats, good progressives and have a history of voting to improve the lot of the vast majority of citizens in this coun try. I think both men are also good government people and would work to bring back responsible and accountable government.
I would vote for Kerry. I have in the past and always will deeply respect the abilities of Sen. Feingold.

I'll grant that Kerry has made some gestures towards the left, but Russ has been with us all along. And Russ never said "I voted for it before I voted against it."

I like them both very much, but I do feel that Kerry had his shot.
I think we need someone new. Feingold has a liberal record, but he's a maverick. Getting elected by 10 points in WI is an impressive task. But like IndianaGreen said, if this were between Kerry and Hillary, I'd be with Kerry for sure without a doubt.
