1. Warner of Virgina or the Gov. of Montana
I'm sorry I can't remember his last name, but his first name is Brian and he's very popular in the state--either would probably help us deliver a state which is usually RED.

4. Schweitzer.
He could probably help deliver Montana, but Montana only has 3 electoral votes.

Still, he's a charismatic guy.

10. Schweitzer came to Idaho recently to speak to a group of Dems...
Can't remember if it was the Idaho Democrats or the Ada County Democrats, but it was here in Boise.

He could garner a lot of support here too, but I doubt it would be enough to sway our electoral votes to the left.

12. I heard him on Franken a while back
I liked what he was saying about climate change and the environment. That message touches a lot of people including farmers, ranchers and other ag-related businesses (plains red state economies) who are facing water shortages, increased fuel costs (tractors, farm trucks, cultivators, planters, etc.) and corporate subsidies. A few years back I worked on keeping a road out of some local wetlands. Also along the path of the road were a bunch of farmers who had spent years working to implement conservation measures on their land. The two groups ended up working together and more than one Republican farmer decided we treehuggers weren't crazy after all. For our part we found out that some Republicans valued the land and its preservation more than they loved a big check. He could build a lot of bridges and make some inroads.

5. Behind his intention to run for POTUS , I've always thought Biden was
really angling for VP.

Trouble is, I don't much care for him after learning on DU that he's also trying to make the Dem party more appealing to religious voters. (I don't object to religious people, it's only that I think such a pitch is going to include a lot of compromises to attract a more conservative faith audience, and that scares me.)

13. The only way America is going to beat TX is if we get CA on the team.
Boxer MUST be on the ticket so that CA money (particularly the entertainment /media/copyright businesses) gets behind the ticket and beats back the TX energy interests.

Love Obama, but Boxer is going to have to be the VP nominee.

14. Just like the centrist Carter chose Mondale from the left......
Clinton/Warner/Edwards/Clark should go with the more progressive Feingold. He would be a solid choice.
