Shade of Willie Horton on "Commander in Chief"
Yes, this program is back and what I like about it is how it borrows from real life events - like when the President is reading for some kids and the chief of staff whispers something in her ear and she immediately stops and gives the book to another kid to continue.

Tonight episode had her presenting her nominee for Attorney General. He was the AG of the state of CT and on the Parole board and a small time burglar who was paroled shot a grandmother in the face and killed her. And this was milked for all the juice that it could.

Also the horse trading with voters - if this is true that one should really be disgusting with people in Congress.

Ted Kennedy almost followed this sense of disgust while on Jon Stewart, when he said how money is the source of all evil. That members of Congress work Tuesday to Thursday and are busy the other time collecting money for their re-election campaigns. Even the West Wing Santos wanted to start there.

P.S. for those too young to remember the 1988 Michael Dukakis campaign, Karl Rove's role model Lee Atwater used Willie Horton and the furlough program to show that Dukakis was "soft on crime."

This was one time when I made a very politically incorrect comment. When I heard that Atwater died of brain tumor: that I knew that his brain was sick. And I shocked the ones who heard me.

1. I like Commander In Chief! I liked West Wing better, but it's almost
gone. 2 more episodes as I understand.

The other thing I see in the CIC show is just what it would be like if somehow we ever did elect an Independant to the WH. Attacks from EVERY side!

I also like the way the response to the smears on the AG nominee came directly from the Prez.

The horse trading IS FOR REAL! It happens all the damn time! Selling out to the highest bidder so to speak. Too bad, but I don't even know if public financing would even cure that.

2. This week's episode was much better than last week's.. Hope it survives,
with only 3 more episodes of West Wing left
.

3. Missed last week
but was glad that it did not appear as if something major happened.

I really don't like the young consultant who think that he really knows better than the mature people (OK, I am biased..)

Will be nice to have Alan Arkin in the show.
