His numbers are already down in the 30s. On the one hand hookin' up with Cheney won't do those #s anything but push them down, but on the other hand - a good chance to put the hand out pressure on the really rich....

They "perform" in front of "their" military and "their" friends.. That's IT.

7. price tag suggests they didn't think they could get a whole lot of folks

say a 100 or even 500 ticket would plan for a larger event (more people to make enough money) - bet they didn't think they could get enough to come to raise the $ - so make it more "exclusive" - don't need nearly as many to come when the price tag is 10,000 a person.

6. And what piddling little govt. function is C.doing to justify travel costs

As per usual, one expects that Cheney is also going to make some brief visit to some minor govt. office in the area for some 10 minute meeting so he can write off the entire cost of Air Force One or Two to his fund raising event.
