Rush on Fitz Investigation: "This is scary stuff."
Rush on Fitz Investigation: "This is scary stuff."

I know I don't listen to Rush (gag!) but many on the right certainly do! Check out the quote below the fold taken from a transcript of his show, found here: http://www.rushlimbaugh.com/home/daily/site_042006/content/see_i_told_you_so.guest.html

Scary: Fitzgerald Going After Pre-War Intel As Crime

He's referring to Robert Novak's comments and this is his conclusion. I love it!

RUSH: I'll tell you what, if Novak is right and Pat Fitzgerald has known who leaked from the get-go here, then I'm right. Fitzgerald doesn't want his case to be over something as small as something like perjury, so he's going after the whole prewar intel as a crime. This is scary stuff.

If Rush is scared, you bet your ass his audience is paying attention.

And he still, to this day, refuses to acknowledge that the Oxycontin made him deaf.

Edited on Fri Apr-21-06 08:15 AM by HereSince1628
Rush's job is to persuade the wingnut-base that Fitz' investigation is way off base, unfair, and must be stopped. With mention of possibility of a Rove indictment it seems this gem is right on time

6. Can anyone say "Whitewater"?
Turnabout is fair play, especially when this case involves billions in federal money, an illegal war, lies about intelligence, and deaths of thousands of soldiers and hundreds of thousands of civilians.

Whitewater was about . . . Jennifer Flowers? I forget . . .

20. The irony in this quote "something as small as something like perjury"
Edited on Fri Apr-21-06 10:16 AM by mtnester
it was a BIG deal for them when they went after Clinton for perjury.

Rush is trying to downplay perjury and set the prosecutor up as a traitor...trust me he is NOT scared and appalled in the way we are..he is scared and pissed that the prosecutor is trying to undermine the war (In their warped minds)

The perjury is ancillary to them, unless they can use it to their benefit (and only AGAINST the DEMS)

Ummmm.... I seem to recall when Rush thought perjury was near a capital crime, certainly impeachable. I guess we already know that memory loss is a common trait among repugnants.

28. Heard that at work
He was talking about how Fitz has known all along and that's not a crime, so he is now going around trying to find a crime and make his name and investigation remembered as being very important. I believe in the context he meant it's scary how hard people are working to take down Bush and the Repubs, even going as far as to attack things like the intelligence.

I hate Rush as much as the next guy, but I don't think he was scared in saying that, just saying the people on the left are scary, which is pretty much what his entire 3 hrs. is about.

points' now. Things are no longer in their control.

Remember when the 'left' were a bunch of 'limp-wristed, panty-waist, whiners'? Now, all of a sudden they're 'sccccaaaaarry'!

And what happened to 'rule of law' or 'we are a nation of laws, not men'?

My favorite, I know, is going to be 'NO PRESIDENT IS ABOVE THE LAW'! Wait 'til Rush has to deal with Bush being indicted!

Now they're claiming THIS President is above the law.
The rule of law doesn't apply to THIS president!
And liberals are suddenly people to be SCARED of!

Not to mention, that he seems to have changed his mind about Drug Addicts being sent 'upriver'! Soon, he's going to be a Liberal! He used to slam trial attorneys, until he needed one!

It is fun watching their whole act falling apart, day after day.

I think they thought Rove was a genius and would outwit Fitzgerald. NOW, they're really getting riled, because who's going to give them their talking points when Rove ends up behind bars? This is too much fun! It's probably a sin to get such a kick out of watching their whole scam come crashing down around them! :-)
