The failure to attract followers of the FSM is hurting the Democrats
So far no potential Democratic candidate for 2008 has made any effort to attract Pastafarians. There is the belief amongst Pastafarians that most Democrats hate the idea of the FSM. Many followers of the FSM feel their religion is under attack and that they are persecuted by liberal secular zealots.

America will continue to be screwed up as long as the scientific theory that the FSM created the universe is omitted in favour of the theory of evolution within science classes at schools.

Before I accepted the FSM as the one true deity I was messed-up. I abstained from pasta, hated all pirates... I was an anti-pirate bigot. I followed the example of Jesus because he never ate meatballs. I realised I was wrong when I read the scripture handed down by the prophet Bobby Henderson which foretold of the Flying Spaghetti Monster: an invisible, omnipotent power which created the universe.

All our children must be indoctrinated into Pastafarianism in order for the U.S. to be great country. We would have defeated the Iraqis long ago had we turned up in our privateer vessels, dressed in full-pirate regalia.

I am certain that if the Democrats accept the FSM as the truth then we'll sweep the House, Senate in '06 and the electoral college in 2008.

Yarrrrrrr! Hoist th' mainsail!

2. True - but then followers of the FSM are not known to vote or help
the Democratic party even when they claim membership in the party.

Or has that changed?

8. Maybe that will change when the atmosphere within the party
is more favourable to pirates. When Kerry stood in 2004, he never once brought forward any policy relevant to pirates, neither did any of the other candidates.

3. Pastafari!
All of humankind will eventually have to face His noodly countenence, and account for their earthly deeds.

5. A Pastafarian theocracy is still a theocracy
and as much as I support FSM-ism, I still want the freedom to Pesto if I choose.

7. The U.S. was always intended to be Pastafarianist
It is beyond doubt that the U.S.A. is a country born out of Pastafarian heritage. The U.S.A. began in 1776 during the Age of Pirates, and Pirates are holy beings as considered by the FSM. Several of the Founding Fathers were well-known to have liked pasta and other Holy treats. If America is to reverse its sinful decline then we need more images of the FSM displayed in and outside public buildings. We are one country indivisible under the FSM. The FSM is truthiness and American to the core!

9. Damn right! Just check this out:
Every single one of our founding fathers, every signer of the Declaration of Independence partook in the Sacrament of the Meatballs.

Except Gouvernor Morris, who was a vegan.
However, he was given special dispensation to substitute Tofuballs.
You could look it up.

Ramen.

10. they've been brainwashed by Atkins
I understand why the Dems are so lost -- they've swallowed the lies of the Atkins diet, and its evil anti-carbohydrate heresy. Blasphemy! I tell you!!!

Carbs raise serotonin levels naturally, promoting a feeling of well-being. A gift from our Holy Pasta. Don't let the evil Republican Atkinites steal that away from us!

Next time they attend communion at church, swap out the wafers and grape juice with Holy Spaghetti and the best pirate ale gold coins can buy. Only then can they be touched by His noodly appendage.

Arrrrr!

( We need a pirate icon at DU!)

I see the representation of the Spagetti God here on Democratic Underground all the time, so that leads me to believe that Democrats indeed do support Pastafarians.
