June Crude futures hit $75/barrel |
|
SAN FRANCISCO (MarketWatch) -- Crude-oil futures climbed to a high of $75 per barrel Friday for the first time ever for a front-month contract on concerns about tensions surrounding Iran's nuclear activities, violence in Nigeria, and tight U.S. supplies of unleaded gasoline. June crude was last up $1.26, or 1.7%, at $74.95 per barrel. "We often see this sort of short covering in a record-setting bull market ahead of a weekend, since nobody is sure where we may be Monday," said trader Kevin Kerr, who is also editor of MarketWatch's Global Resources Trader.
Jesus Herking Christ, when will it end? Will it? Probably not. Paid $2.99 for regular in coastal Alabama yesterday. :-(

Henry Ford built his Ford Model-T using hemp to line the side panels. The impact strength was 10 times stronger than steel alone. This would eliminate many vehicular deaths today. The Model-T was also designed to run on hemp fuel which Henry Ford grew. Henry Ford powered his fleet of vehicles on hemp oil, which when burned gives off carbon dioxide and water. Dr. Fred Bell estimated it would take 18 million acres to produce enough hemp to power all vehicles currently in use in the United States.
Does America have 18 million acres to spare?? If so, problem solved.
ON EDIT: The USA is made up of 2,263,962,240 acres. Yeah, I think we can spare ~20 million out of more than 2 BILLION acres which we have.
