Has Bush officially become a king?
He will always be "the Lyin' King" to me, but that's beside the point

To my knowledge, he has NEVER in the past 5 years (maybe longer) been prevented from getting his way. It's like having effing Veruca Salt as president. The mere existance of Congress seems only to provide the illusion that we are not under the arbitrary rule of one man. Tell me, is there anything anymore that distinguishes * from Napoleon or Hitler?

2. Well I beleive Napoleon wore a hat
Also they were both Europeon and we know how Bush feels about Europeons.

Also Bush hasn't rounded up and executed 6 million people.

Whatever happened to Bush's Social Security Phase Out plan, anyway?

5. Napoleon often fought with the soldiers on the front
Julius Caesar did that as well. It was the old way of showing that they were the leader.

13. Really?
I know Hannibal (the greatest military leader of all time, IMO) is famous for that, along with Alexander, but I didn't know that about Caesar and certainly not about Napolean. I thought Bonaparte was more content to sit back and be the mastermind of his army.

16. To boost moral he would sometimes fight with the troops
He probably didn't participate in the majority battles, however he was often present near by and travelled with the army on their conquests. So it was totally different from some leaders who do not even dare to travel over a local highway without closing it down first.

7. Both Napoleon and Hitler created their movements...
they were not a mere product of the movement.

George W. Bush is incapable of being anymore than a spokes person.

Example #1 - Notice Cheney just happened to be in Washington State on a campaign stop at the time of President Hu's visit, two days before meeting with the president. There is no record of any sort of official meeting.

See?

8. I agree that his executive powers have been abused to
an unprecedented level. Spying illegally, trying to control the media, leaking classified information, and not to mention starting illegal wars. However, his domestic agenda has been limited greatly. Social Security reform, Tort reform, Marriage amendment ( I think this was a hoax from the start he never intended to pass an amendment on marriage, just to rally the gay bashin crowd. Don't get me wrong he got away with too much. I'm just puttin a few of our victories out there.

10. At least Napoleon wasn't scared to go into battle
Unlike the chickenhawk-in-chief, although I think the two are well matched in arrogance.

Bush is a lot more like Hitler. And the people who support Bush are a lot like those whiny Germans who, after learning of the genocide, kept saying, "We didn't know! We didn't know!"

14. Giving the devil his due, Hitler was a war hero, was awarded the
Iron Cross for his service in the trenches of WWI, long before he became a rabble-rouser.

The Shrub doesn't even have that much authenticity.

15. Russ Feingold is framing this brilliantly
Here's the link to his new video on behalf of his Progressive Patriots Fund:
http://www.progressivepatriotsfund.com/page/file/a1669bc495f13c816a_xfmv2avb.html/w.html

This presents G.W. as the "king" of the United States and shows why he thinks he is, all in a few brief seconds. I think it's great framing, because it hangs the title on him, and we all know from elementary school lessons that we fought a war of independence to get out from under a king. This is a meme that should be spread far and wide.

George Bush: "If this were a dictatorship, it would be a heck of a lot easier - just so long I'm the dictator." December 18, 2000

Video of him saying that, if you can bear to watch the idiot king, is at http://www.newsgateway.ca/bush_dictator.htm

our King George. I think I even saw some photos of Bush with a crown on his head.

At least it looked like it from the photo.
