Just curious to see how many DU'ers are at work right now, or visit DU
Edited on Tue Jan-10-06 01:45 PM by stop the bleeding
while at work on a regular basis.

I ask this because I am at work right now and half of my day is spent here and the other half is spent at work.

I have seen other people who spend an equal or more amount of time here compared to me and they also mention that they are working as well.

So if your at work right now - here is your chance to check in and see who else is in the same boat as you.

on edit:

BTW I leave the DU page up and running all day, my job requires me to be on multiple internet pages all day long, so there is no tracking my computer.

Also on edit looking at the repsonses it is hard to believe that there is any work getting done - even though we all manage to do both (DU and work) that is.

Lastly I'm telling your bosses!!!:evilgrin::toast::yoiks:

11. Well, I guess technically I'm at work
I drive my own truck for a living and look for freight on internet load boards, hence the laptop and wireless card. Right now I'm in Virginia waiting for my trailer to be unloaded at a Target DC. Dropped it off at noon and their schedule calls for an eleven hour unload time.
Suits me as I get $50 an hour detention pay after the first two hours. I hope they take all night.
So, I guess that I am at work as I am getting paid right now.

What I don't get done during the day ,because I'm on DU , I have to take home and get done at night. (He's just as bad, though with the sports web sites, so we do a lot of dinner-table work each evening).

37. Just found out that some of our counties caucus packets are on their
way to Pittsburgh! :wow: Well, Gov. Vilsack is from there and he's a Steelers fan

Things should be fine by the 16th. Have you heard of anyone in Clinton Co. that's planning on breaking into preference groups? I'm just so nosy about this because it seems so unreal in an off-year caucus. Are you a precinct captain?

I believe we will be following the state caucus platform, with groups and candidates. We will e choosing delegates to the county convention as well.

43. Yep, that's standard. Just at our caucus training we were told
that there had been talk about breaking into preference groups (either for Congressional candidate or Gubernatorial candidate). News to my ears as that's never happened at an off-year caucus that I know of. Then this article ended up in the W/CF Courier:

http://www.wcfcourier.com/articles/2006/01/08/columnists/eby/e3dae6033d4c3031862570ee00719401.txt

and I realize that Fallon is organizing w/his supporters to try and get as many delegates to County/District/State convention as possible.

WOW! Should be interesting.

Did David Overby/Denny Heath get nomination papers in to be distributed w/the packets?

20. I've been ungainfully employed, trying to make ends meet
(and failing) for about eighteen months now and for 3 of the past five years, so work is not a problem.

If DUers are spending half their time working, they are doing better than most.

Edited on Tue Jan-10-06 02:26 PM by Armstead
I have a home office and I bounce back and forth betwenn what I'm supposed to be doing and visiting DU. The ratio depends on what's happening in the nooze, and on how much under the gun I am on particular work projects.

I also have a TV in my home office, and a broadband connection with streaming or podcasts.

So I have a lot of distractions, and have to chew myself out when I let myelf get too distracted.

All that aside, my observation of mine, and other office operations is that about two hours of real work gets accomplished daily; the rest of the time is spent frittering around in various ways, DU being one of them.

I would probably get fired, and certainly blacklisted, if I visited this site at work.

I also would not play on the internet at work, anyway.

As it is, I am bored 75% of the time at my job. Literally staring across a room, tapping my fingers on the counter.

Am I on the wrong site? :P

Yeah, I am a M-F 9-5 working gal. But I work through lunch and don't take any real breaks, so I pop in here for a couple minutes here and there throughout the day. I work my ass off as a general rule so it balances out well. And on the days when it is really slow here (which doesn't happen much), I post quite a lot.
