nestled in there were some GREAT shows... that just required a tiny bit of intelligence to 'get' them.
Fox doesn't take any chances, they'll just go straight for the lowest common denominator. If their audience base can't 'get' a show within 5 minutes, BAM, off the air.

15. A note about Cedric the Entertainer

A possible gentle correction about Cedric. The story I heard is that his show wasn't canned because of poor ratings or reputation. It was cancelled because Fox executives reputedly told Cedric that if he wanted another season, he had to put more white people on the show and generally point the moral compass back in the watermelon and pickaninny direction.

Cedric told them to fuck off.

This is according to what I've heard on the street, so perhaps you shouldn't take my word for it.
