My day petitioning..Justifiable homicide
You may remember I am working on a state petition to limit growth to 1% in 7 counties in Colorado and of that 1%, 30% needed to be 'affordable' housing. Affordable housing is defined as the medium income in the counties and housing representing 30% of you net income.
Some republican said to me today that he believed in capitalism and 'market driven economy'. I asked how does he explain the Colorado now has the largest foreclosure rate in the country in March of 2006. He gave me some lame explanation that people should not buy what they can't afford. I asked him where do you want people to live since the builders are only building million dollar properties. he said if they can't afford to live in what is built, they can always live in a shelter!

Welcome to America!

1. Great! They can build a shelter next to HIS house!
And then poor people can break into the million dollar homes and rob them until they save enough money for a house of their own.

3. Wonder how his words will taste,
as seasoning for a bit of crow stew, when he himself suffers a downturn and has to either give up a house or live with family/friends, or even a shelter.

4. I'd like to see him go to his Chamber of Commerce buddies with that
I'm sure the hotel/service industry would love that he is opposed to the building of places nearby that their lower wage employees can afford.
