J. Leopold Confirms-Inspite of rumors to contrary-Fitz WAS At Grand Jury
(Kpete: lots of ?s everywhere as to whether Jason Leopold knows what he is talking about. I, for one trust him and I think his answer at TWN says it all!)

"To answer all of your questions as to whether Fitzgerald was at the GJ the answer is yes, he was. His spokesman, Randall Samborn, has confirmed that. And FYI, Fitzgerald has often been in DC and has flown back to Chicago, which is exactly what he did Wednesday. So I am not jumping to conclusions nor have I since I have been covering this story meticulously for more than a year."

1. Jason's been too wrong too often.
What was one of his recent stories? I think it was that Fitz was before the grand jury asking for a Rove indictment, and that was a few weeks ago.

Don't think he's credible anymore.

6. link
I got this from a discussion at TWN. Several comments questioning Leopolds assertion that Fitzgerald was actually present, then Leopold makes the last comment (so far): http://www.thewashingtonnote.com/archives/001360.php

7. Not you, kpete.
Note that my request for a link or quote was made to the person who stated Jason Leopold had reported that Fitzgerald had already asked the grand jury to return indictments. Jason had reported that Fitzgerald was preparing to present the facts to the grand jury at the end of April. I am not questioning you.

9. Oh, yes, I know ....
You may have noticed that the "leaked" document was exactly that which I said it was last week, when the letter from Judge Walton came out. They were trying to make Fitzgerald's "correction" appear like more than it was. I wasn't aware of Mr. Jeffress's discuss with the journalist, however.

Have a good vacation.

11. I am surprised
by Mr. Jeffress's glarring error. Sounds like the pressure is taking a toll. Maybe he needs the vacation!!!

13. Here's one miss from Jason.
No date on this story at Rawstory. But whatever the date, it's wrong on 2 counts.

Prosecutor in leak case seeks indictments against Rove, Libby, lawyers close to case say
Jason Leopold and John Byrne

Print This | Email This

Special Prosecutor Patrick J. Fitzgerald has asked the grand jury investigating the outing of CIA operative Valerie Plame Wilson to indict Vice President Dick Cheney’s chief of staff I. Lewis “Scooter” Libby and Bush’s Deputy Chief of Staff Karl Rove on charges of perjury and obstruction of justice, lawyers close to the investigation tell RAW STORY.

Fitzgerald has also asked the jury to indict Libby on a second charge: knowingly outing a covert operative, the lawyers said. They said the prosecutor believes that Libby violated a 1982 law that made it illegal to unmask an undercover CIA agent.

Libby’s attorney, Joseph A. Tate, did not return a call seeking comment.

14. Here's another interesting piece about Leopold
I wish him well, but this is not a bio of a credible reporter.

2. The people who question
Jason Leopold on the forum you provide the link to sound like do not sound particularly insightful. Some rely on a right-wing journalist, who is found cheer-leading on the Scooter Libby Defense Trust sight. Please. What has been reported by some more reliable sources is that Fitzgerald hasn't been seen entering the federal court. I don't think this conflicts with what JL is reporting, at all.

5. I agree
But even on the Schuster Video http://thinkprogress.org/2006/04/21/msnbcs-shuster-signs-point-to-rove-indictment there was a question about whether or not Fitzgerald was there. I just saw this and thought that it helps clear things up. thanks, kpete

15. I question Leopold's credibility based on the facts.
Facts are always insightful.
