June 12  June 12, 1904 - Some 50,000 members of the Amalgamated Meat Cutters and Butcher Workmen employed in meatpacking plants across the country, including the one in St. Paul, Minnesota, walked off their jobs. Among their demands was equalization of wages and conditions throughout U.S. plants.
