Today in labor history June 12 260 die in Butte mine disaster

June 12, 1904 - Some 50,000 members of the Amalgamated Meat Cutters and Butcher Workmen employed in meatpacking plants across the country, including the one in St. Paul, Minnesota, walked off their jobs.
