Mall Cleaners in Five States to See Wages Boosted (raises as high as 54 percent & family health care

http://www.laborradio.org/node/8779

Mall cleaners in five states will see a boost to their wages, thanks to a new contract agreement between SEIU Local 32BJ and Control Building Services. The company handles nearly 400 cleaners at malls in New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Maryland, and Virginia. All together, the agreement covers seventeen malls owned by Simon Property Group. That's the largest publicly traded Real Estate Investment Trust in North America. Many of the workers could see raises as high as 54 percent, and on October 1 of this year they will begin receiving employer-funded family health care.
