Worried Teachers Gather At KCMO School Board Meeting
In the midst of state accreditation problems, now there are labor problems at the Kansas City, Missouri school district. That's why the teacher's union was out in force at Wednesday's school board meeting.

It was a show of solidarity from the teacher's union, just days before the union's contract with the district comes to an end. Both sides believe the district got the message.

There was standing room only at Wednesday's Kansas City, Missouri's school board meeting and even more lined the hallways outside. Teacher's union members wanted to let let the school board know they're upset that they won't have a contract in less than a week.

"We didn't conclude this contract until November of '05," teacher's union president Judy Morgan said. "It's a three year agreement, so we don't agree with the district about the June 30 date."

The district sees things differently.
