Technically, it's illegal, but Labor Unions have found numerous loopholes in the law to give $millions in Union dues to politicians. Most just blatantly violate FEC federal regulations. They lend office space, resources and manpower and pay volunteers with cash. They pay for leaflets, pins, stickers, and posters. Millions of Union members will have an official day off Election Day 2008. Many will run car pools for Obama (this was extremely effective for Al Gore in 2000 and was instrumental in his winning the popular vote), and it's a safe bet that gasoline will be paid for with Union dues. Union members in 2000 and 2004 were paid to disrupt and heckle G.W. Bush rallies and appearances.
