Ladies and gentlemen, meet 'Mr. Bill' (President of KY AFL-CIO)
The Courier-Journal reported on Oct. 22 that the U.S. Chamber of Commerce is airing ads in targeted states featuring a carefully edited video clip entitled, "Meet Bill." For those who do not know me, I'm Bill.

The video clip is of an incident between an unidentified, unnamed video stalker hired by U.S. Sen. Mitch McConnell's National Republican Senatorial Committee, and me. He was hired to videotape McConnell's opponent, Bruce Lunsford's every utterance and action. The obvious purpose of McConnell's video stalker is to capture candidate Lunsford saying or doing anything that could possibly be construed as negative or provoke an incident to be used in a smear ad.

The clip contained in the "Meet Bill" video shows a brief confrontation between the unidentified video stalker and me at the Annual Labor Day Parade in Paducah. The fracas occurred after I had requested that McConnell's video stalker cease videotaping me since I am not a candidate for public office, wasn't near Lunsford during most of the parade, and didn't want to be taped for one of McConnell's ads.

While we have come to expect this kind of dirty politics from Mitch McConnell, what is different is that I am not running for public office and the "Meet Bill" ad is intended to influence voters in select U.S. Senate races where Republican incumbents are facing serious challenges. The link is that the Democrat candidates in these districts have pledged their support for the Employee Free Choice Act. McConnell and the Chamber of Commerce think this is an issue they can use to turn voters against candidates that support the Employee Free Choice Act.
