ADT Security Services is eliminating 380 jobs in Papillion as it integrates its electronic customer monitoring and account retention systems with similar services around the country, the company said today.

The consolidation will be complete by March, with affected employees able to apply for other positions within the company, spokeswoman Ann Lindstrom said from ADT headquarters in Boca Raton, Fla.

Employees unable to find positions at ADT may be eligible for severance benefits, Lindstrom said.

ADT, which provides electronic security to businesses and homes, has 21,000 employees nationwide.

At least 55 ADT employees will remain in Papillion, working on installation, administration and sales, Lindstrom said.

ADT was founded in Baltimore in 1874 as American District Telegraph Co. Now it is a division of Tyco International Ltd. ADT has been in the Omaha area since 1892.
