The National Labor Relations Board sides with the former employees of the Santa Barbara News-Press.

The agency says union representatives did nothing wrong when they called for a boycott of the paper as part of an ongoing dispute. The paper's lawyers accused union officials of not bargaining in good faith.

Two years ago, when many of the paper's top editors quit, they claimed owner Wendy McCaw interfered with news coverage.

A judge found the paper violated labor laws by firing eight reporters, which the paper is appealing.
