anti labor rant from Association of Builders and Contractors PAC Chair
To: ABC Board, Council & Committee Leaders

From: Art Odom, ABC PAC Chairman

ABC is under attack and we are only 3 weeks into the new administration. The Obama administration just issued 3 pro-union Executive Orders and we anticipate more.

A Quote from President Obama’s Press Conference: “I also believe that we have to reverse many of the policies towards organized labor that we've seen these last eight years, policies with which I've sharply disagreed. I do not view the labor movement as part of the problem, to me it's part of the solution. (Applause.) We need to level the playing field for workers and the unions that represent their interests, because we know that you cannot have a strong middle class without a strong labor movement. We know that strong, vibrant, growing unions can exist side by side with strong, vibrant and growing businesses. This isn't a either/or proposition between the interests of workers and the interests of shareholders. That's the old argument. The new argument is that the American economy is not and has never been a zero-sum game. When workers are prospering, they buy products that make businesses prosper. We can be competitive and lean and mean and still create a situation where workers are thriving in this country. So I'm going to be signing three executive orders designed to ensure that federal contracts serve taxpayers efficiently and effectively. One of these orders is going to prevent taxpayer dollars from going to reimburse federal contractors who spend money trying to influence the formation of unions. We will also require that federal contractors inform their employees of their rights under the National Labor Relations Act. Federal labor laws encourage collective bargaining, and employees should know their rights to avoid disruption of federal contracts.”

The next attack will come in the way of an Executive Order allowing projects with Federal money to use Project Labor Agreements, so that only union contractors can work on the projects. The House and the new Senate promise to pass the damaging Employee Free Choice Act in the spring and Obama will sign it.

We need your help now: 1) We need to rebuild our base of congressional delegates in Washington that support free enterprise, 2) We need to elect a strong congressional delegation in Raleigh and Columbia (50% of your PAC contribution stays in the Carolinas) and 3) Win back the White House in 2012.

2. ABC
As a union construction worker, I am greatly pleased to see that the ABC is running scared. The shoe is on the other foot now so live with it! They know what our pay and benefits are so they barely underbid the union contractors. They then pay their people substandard wages and benefits (sometimes they pay almost as much on the check, but no benefits) and pocket the excess profits. They don't train their people and their safety records are abysmal.:toast:

3. hahaha
Love it! Now they see the un-organized are just as pissed for being hoodwinked all these years as the organized and informed. Strike while the iron is hot, brothers and sisters! Show your union pride and your self worth as a human being! Inform your fellow man about union power and the sway we hold when we control the market share of workers. We've had enough of your lies ABC, and we know who you are. Sign up some people for permits today, get your brothers and sisters onboard with your local apprenticeship programs! No time like the present!

4. A great number of union members stay uninformed

They listen to right wing radio. They belong to the R party. They slit their own throats when they vote.
