Worker killed at Microsoft campus construction site

REDMOND, Wash. – A worker was killed in an accident at a construction site on the Microsoft campus Thursday morning.

Police said several thousand pounds of rebar were being lowered into concrete at the site of a new parking garage when it tipped over and crushed the worker.

"He was attached to the rebar and it was up, vertically, in the ground and as he was attached it fell over on him," said Jim Bove of the Redmond Police Dept.

Bove said CPR was attempted but it was unsuccessful.

Randy J. Beutel was a member of Local 86 in WA.
