Poll question: Job ad magazines say PC desktop support is a great way to get into a company. T/F?
They say it's entry level but it's easy to move to other areas once you're established.

Especially in this economy, it's been said desktop support will be around.

(I know the answer, but I'd much rather reads your opinion. Do you think the two aforementioned claims are reality?)

1. I don't know about that. They scaled back the amount of desktop support that we had locally, so
only a handful of people support multiple buildings. So at least in my direct corporate experience, it wouldn't be the way in anymore than any other position.

2. Precisely.
Another loaded, bollocks-ridden article.

3. True, if you have a good fake PC-support-company badge.
And can actually pass yourself off as a support person.

4. Total Bullshit. Most Ads want you to be an Expert in every Microsoft product made...
...able to be a network Engineer, a Cisco Analyst and Make the Company web-Site "When you have Time".
