Some current and former Fort Bragg medical workers will be compensated with interest for unpaid overtime, as well as for night and weekend work, the result of a decision by a federal arbitrator.

The workers could see up to $5 million in all, according to their labor union.

The American Federation of Government Employees' Local 1770 filed the complaint five years ago on behalf of civilian employees at Womack Army Medical Center.

The Federal Labor Relations Authority ruled in the union's favor on June 30.

The union filed grievances alleging Womack and the U.S. Army Dental Activity failed to compensate employees who were assigned on-call duties on or after Oct. 31, 2004, the FLRA decision said.

The employees didn't get on-call and premium pay until at least Jan. 23, 2005, the decision said.
