The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia recently offered employees the option of bowing out of seasonal flu vaccination for “religious and medical beliefs. However, five workers are alleging they were fired because they sought to bow out for personal beliefs. The hospital mandated that employees have the shot by December 4. Those that had not received a shot were fired. The Service Employees International Union is now taking the hospital to arbitration over the firings. The union will request that the workers be returned to their jobs with back pay. Four of the five workers are members of the union.

1. If you do not have the intelligence to get a flu shot you should not
be working in the medical profession. The idea is to prevent the spread of disease especially if your are Typhoid Mary.

2. One thing you need to do if you work with patients
is not make them any sicker than they already are. That includes getting immunizations for anything and everything you possibly can.

That is a term of employment in any patient care area from nursing home through intensive care. Employees will be dealing with medically fragile people who need to be protected as much as possible.

Prissy antivaxers need to find other lines of work.
