Allied Properties is a Pennsylvania developer who has historically used cut rate contractors that frequently exploit their workers. Their contractors pay well below area standards and offer little to no benefits for their employees, undercutting not only their livelihood, but also underming area wages and working conditions fought for and established by the hard work of SMWIA members..

There are contractors and workers in the area who do pay a fair wage and provide good healthcare along with a dignified retirement plan - with no additional cost to Allied Properties. In fact, other area stores and malls have used local contractors with a workforce that is employed under the established rates for the area.


Instead of listening to area workers and supporters in the community, Allied Properties has decided to ignore for their new construction work at the Berkshire Mall in Berks County, PA.
