AFL-CIO goes after Bill Clinton in Arkansas

In their campaign to defeat Sen. Blanche Lincoln (D-Ark.), the AFL-CIO is taking the unusual step of tying her to the state's most famous Democrat: Bill Clinton.

Clinton is in Arkansas Friday campaigning for Lincoln, and the AFL-CIO took the opportunity to attack both Clinton and Lincoln for supporting the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA).

The group sent out a release declaring that "BLANCHE LINCOLN AND BILL CLINTON SENT OUR JOBS TO MEXICO AND CANADA."

"Bill Clinton and Blanche Lincoln took us in the wrong direction when they supported NAFTA," the e-mail reads. "They sent thousands of Arkansas jobs to Mexico and Canada, and yet they’re still bragging about their support of the job-killing deal."
