Coalition forms to drive down prescription drug prices for smaller unions

A new coalition has formed to help small and midsize unions joins forces in an attempt to control prescription drug costs. Medco Health Solutions is currently made up of 35 unions – each composed of less than 20,000 members. With the unified membership of multiple unions the coalition is able to demand prescription drug prices enjoyed by larger unions and gain the benefits of specialist pharmacists. Specialist pharmacists are trained in specific care for inflictions such as diabetes and cardiovascular disease.
