New Jersey is seeing a massive exodus of experienced state workers – from firefighters to teachers. According to the state’s Division of Pensions and Benefits during the first seven months of 2010 retirement applications increased by 67 percent. That’s 16 percent more than last year according to a report in New Jersey online. The hardest hit in terms of retirements has been the education field. The website says more than 6,400 educators have filed for retirement this year. The main reason? Fears regarding future wage, retirement, health care, and job cuts by Governor Chris Christie.

1. I'd like to see how he handles THIS problem, since he thinks he's such a genius. K&R

3. He doesn't see it as a problem to handle....
..it's exactly what he wanted to happen. This way the government run services (which despite everyone's complaints about pensions sizes and compensations and all that, ran pretty well) will now falter and fail and he can say "See, government can't do anything right. We need to privatize."

Asshole (Christie that is).

4. Rec. This post is yet another reason to support Democratic candidates...
We have what seems to be a tough race here in PA, but Democratic candidate Dan Onorato is picking up support even as new horror stories come across the border from Jersey...I saw that someone on TV thinks Christe will run for President in '12 or '16, too...talk about a nightmare!
