Siemens has essentially pledged to give its current home country workforce jobs for life. Jesse Russell reports:
In an rare move by a major corporation German company Siemen’s has offered an indefinite accord with workers that it will not carry out forced redundancies. The company said it has made the move because it is committed to preserving Germany as a long term business location and sees every single one of its 128,000 employees as important. In a statement the company said it will use “every possible means to achieve this aim. Within Germany the company employs nearly 128,000 workers. While the deal protects the 100 billion dollar a year company’s employees within Germany, it doesn’t extend to the 275,000 Siemens employees around the globe.
