Equal Employment Opportunity Commission Sues DHL Express Over Alleged Discrimination

More than 20 complaints of discrimination has led to the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission suing DHL Express. Jesse Russell has more.

The suit alleges that the package delivery company has discriminated against black employees in the Chicago region. According to the EEOC the company allegedly sent black delivery workers to more dangerous delivery locations than they did white workers. The company would also allegedly segregate workers by sending black employees to so-called “black neighborhoods” and white workers to so-called “white neighborhoods.” The lawsuit is seeking class action status. If accepted it will apply to nearly 150 workers in the Chicago region. If the workers win they could collect as much as $300,000 in damages.
