Sprague, Conn. —

A Sprague-based packaging company that has been cited with more than 20 infractions by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration since 2004 is facing a new round of violations, the agency announced Friday.

Amgraph Packaging, Inc., which manufactures and distributes packaging for food and tobacco products, faces fines of up to $137,250 for 60 workplace safety and health standards infractions.

“Our inspections identified a broad crosssection of electrical, mechanical, chemical fire and fall hazards throughout the workplace,” Paul Mangiafico, OSHA’s acting area director in Hartford, said in a written statement. “For the safety and health of its employees, Amgraph must correct these conditions and take effective steps to ensure that they do not occur again.”

Among OSHA’s findings were that workers responded to structural fires without proper training, and emergency eyewash and shower facilities were not provided for employees working with corrosives.
