It is not my forum, it is DU's Labor Forum

I will no longer be trying to create traffic, posts, replies, etc. It is up to DU to decide if there should even be a Labor Forum.

Thank you for your time.

OS

1. My dear Omaha Steve...
It may be DU's Labor Forum...

But you are its heart.

Thank you for your time, and considerable effort...

3. I very much appreciate all you post, but forget about this forum, read you elsewhere
unless I see something on "discuss" page as you write it.

I understand your frustration but also appreciate you.

9. I have responded to many of your posts
And most of the time, that was the only post. So who gives a rats ass if there is a labor forum in here? I tried. You are the man, but I tried. Screw it.
Now let's see if this post gets any replies.

10. Posts on Labor issues never seem to generate much
interest (I know mine have not) . One supposes that as they are discussing things like jobs and conditions in the workplace (which affect pretty much everyone in one way or another) that they are not really all that interesting. It is much more important to discuss the latest outrage of whoever in the media that said something absurd, the latest shark that ate the little blond girl or whatever. :banghead:

That said I have always enjoyed, responded to many and rec'd many of OS's posts through the years.

It's good to hear about labor issues from a Union Brother.

11. I'm mostly a lurker around DU, forever trying to learn...
and I read and learn from your posts everyday, yours and the stock market posts are the ones I hit daily and never am I disappointed.

I really appreciate your time and your posts and I think you are a real DU hero!

My husband is a retired union carpenter, my father was a retired union electrician and I am a Texas State Employees Union member, although this is a lobbying union with non striking/negotiation rights in the heart of Texas.

13. I don't reply much. Kind of the quiet type.
I just want you to know, that I appreciate all that I have learned from you. You're posts are valuable. Maybe we don't show enough love, but I'd dearly miss you're posts.

38 years with the IAM Union here.

14. Believe me, your posts are appreciated
The information you bring here is important and presented succinctly. Lots of times, I can't think of anything to add, but that doesn't detract from its importance in the least. I'll often rec, but if I believe my response would be trite, I'll often not kick. I, for one, would be very disappointed if your contributions went missing.

15. Steve...
I would not paint on a Michaelangelo canvas and only occasionally comment on a post of yours. For me you ARE the voice of labor on DU and if you sometimes feel ignored, then perhaps it is because I find little to dispute and less I can amplify...But you and Marta are to me friends and a source of pleasure. I would hope you would continue.
