Alcoa hiring in Davenport, Iowa

11/21/2010

Davenport Iowa received some good employment news this week. Aluminum company Alcoa said it would hire 100 workers. Those are new hires for the company because it finished recalling laid off workers in September. The new employees will start in December so the company can meet business demand. Some of the positions the company needs to fill are skilled craft positions. If new employees don’t step up to fill those jobs they’ll be providing an apprenticeship program.

1. So that's known in Omaha as well.
We heard about it several weeks ago and we were overjoyed. That is a fairly good job and it helps our economy a lot.
