Chris Dodd: Have you heard the race-changing news?

After eight months of working together tirelessly, the fruits of our labor are showing tangible, ground-breaking results.

This morning at 11 A.M. Eastern, I will proudly accept the endorsement of one of the most powerful and politically active labor unions in the country: The International Association of Fire Fighters.

We'll broadcast the event live, and I hope I can count on you to take a moment to tell your friends as you tune in to view the good news.

Some choose to back the candidates they think are in the lead -- the fire fighters back those they know have the vision to lead.

They are a trusted friend on the trail, just as they are in your neighborhood.

You only have to look back to 2004 to see the IAFF has proven they know how to help a candidate win in Iowa and New Hampshire.

You'll see the fire fighters at events across the country, but today you have a chance to hear from them directly about how they came to understand what all of us have known for some time: our campaign offers the bold leadership necessary to take over the reins from President Bush on day one.

Can I count on you to tune in and share the good news, right now?

A recent New Hampshire poll showed only 10% of people had made a definite decision in this race -- it is clear that voters are still looking for real leadership.

I am counting on the combination of your support along with the fire fighters to serve as the campaign's best messengers to reach those voters.

But, more importantly, I am especially honored that the nation's fire fighters have joined you in putting their trust in me to keep America safe and our families secure.

Thank you,
Chris Dodd

1. Weird for Labor to pick a sure loser, especially this far out
Is he promising something?

Does labor always do this, choosing a candidate early, then re-endorsing after their guy loses and the nominee is chosen? If so, WHY?

3. I like Dodd.....
even with his corporate connections representing his state.

He is smart and experienced.

I am surprised that union didn't go with someone else -- but do not question their judgment -- at this point.

Maybe they are tired of being pestered by other candidates and are parking themselves with him to get rid of the hassle while they watch how things unfold.
