2. Hell yeah!
At NYU I'm being told that I'm ineligible to join a union because I'm a student not a worker, but they said that even if being a student wasn't enough to keep me from being eligible to join a union then I'd be ineligible because I'm management.

3. Isn't there an ongoing strike a NYU?

I know my wife and I donated to the strike fund back on 4-30. I'd talk to the union before believing NYU.

4. Yes, I'm the only worker out a 1000 person bargaining unit to be fired.

Thanks for donating! It probably helped pay my rent. I was one of two people who lost their jobs. So actually, it wasn't just me it was another brother as well. I lost my health insurance, my tuition remission, and my job. I was reassigned to an adjunct job at $4000 with no benefits. Since I can't afford my fees, I may have to drop out of NYU if I can't raise the money. Unfortunately that means I will lose the adjunct job since it is dependent on my enrollment. It's a complete catch-22. If I don't pay $2000, I can't work for $4000.

The campaign is in recess to organize for another leg of the fight-- another strike. On Aug. 2nd I have a court date from a civil disobedience we did in Manhattan. The prosecuter's office is trying to give us 15 days in jail. I had to leave NY because I couldn't afford to pay my rent over the summer. When I come back there may be a warrant out for my arrest. I'll know after the 2nd.

Thanks so much for following our campaign and supporting it. We need all the help we can get. They got the big guns.

5. Not bad for somebody out in Ne.

I don't remember for sure how I even found out about this. Most likely AFL-CIO, WIN, labour start, etc...

6. You rock Omaha Steve!
Yeah, I bet I wouldn't have a hard time surviving on Nebraska on $4000 a semester! I just had to get rid of my 250 sq foot apartment, it was $300 under market value, but $1625 a month for a place with no kitchen was still a little steep ;) Luckily I found a 80 sq. foot room within someone else's studio for $750 a month + bills. It can even fit a full sized bed! (I can't wait to get out of the city.)
