Marshall company to seek union concessions
MARSHALL — Marshall Brass employees will vote today on a company-proposed plan to cut wages and increase health insurance premiums, according to workers.

The alternative, said one employee, is for the company — which just netted a multimillion-dollar tax break — to close its doors.

"They're giving us an ultimatum," said Clint Loney, 47, of Bellevue, who has worked at Marshall Brass for 14 years. "Either we vote their concessions in or they'll close the doors. Most of us have been laid off for the past two weeks."

Loney said the proposal includes an about 15 percent decrease in pay and a $25 per week increase in health insurance premiums for plant employees.
