LifePath votes for union

Workers at LifePath Inc., who rejected an attempt three years ago to unionize, have reversed course.

By a 166-138 vote, 467 eligible employees will become members of Communications Workers of America, a union official said Monday.

"It's an historic election that we're proud to have the members as part of our labor community," said Gregg Potter, president of the Lehigh Valley Labor Council who is also a member of CWA.

Potter said the vote took place last week at several LifePath offices with results tallied by National Labor Relations Board officials in Philadelphia.
