Ohio Teacher's strike is turning ugly

A HUFFMASTER Crisis Response employee was charged with misdemeanor assault after allegedly striking a picketing teacher with his vehicle.

Frederick Saunders, of Youngstown, was arraigned Oct. 5 in Harrison County Court on the first-degree count after a third person was struck at Harrison Hopedale Elementary School. He received a $20,000 or 10-percent cash bond and was remanded into sheriff’s custody. If convicted, he could face a maximum of six months in jail and a $1,000 fine.

Union members and eyewitnesses said the incident occurred around 10:30 a.m. on Oct. 5 when the substitute worker was driving his personal vehicle up Central Street and allegedly forced his way through the line to the rear parking lot. Sixth-grade teacher Karen Hanzel was reportedly hit in the process sustained minor injuries. She was taken to Trinity Medical Center, while police transported the driver for questioning and towed his car from the school lot.

Marsha Hennis, picket captain, said the union members were walking their line at the Central Street location—the same one where two other pickets were reportedly hit by Huffmaster vans. A mutual agreement over picketing practices was implemented this past week in a Harrison County courtroom to limit the number of people in certain areas on school grounds. Hennis said the group was abiding by the pact when the incident happened.

Huffmaster is a security company from Michigan that schools hire to provide transportation for scabs and provide "security" around the school buildings. I've met them up close and personal on many occasions.
They are armed and intimidating.

1. Uh, hitting somebody with a CAR is assault with a deadly weapon
and hardly a misdemeanor.

Somebody's paying the cops off.

3. Notice....
the healthcare staffing. They try to bust Nurse unions too. What they don't mention is that companies can by strike insurance and have no incentive to listen to grievances.
