HUMMELS WHARF - The federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration is investigating the death Wednesday of an employee of a Harrisburg-area firm at a shopping mall construction site.

Mark Stelmach, area director for OSHA's Wilkes-Barre office, said on Friday that the investigation will try to determine whether any fines will be levied in the death of Ronald Montgomery Collins, 38, of Mount Union.

Collins, an employee of S&R Enterprises of West Hanover Twp., was killed when earth-moving equipment ran over him at the Monroe Marketplace construction site along Route 11/15.

According to state police, Collins was pulled under one of the machine's 4-foot-high wheels after his foot became trapped as he walked next to the heavy equipment.
