Found this after my today in labor history post.

March 23, 1970 - President Richard Nixon declared a national emergency and ordered 30,000 troops to New York City to break the first nationwide postal strike.

1. By and large
The Union Leadership of the NALC is shit. Anything that is recommended by management is considered a "shit" Idea (most are actually) but the Baby goes out with the bathwater. And if the NALC ever had an original idea (at least one more orginal than a donut) I would keel over. That Union is so reactive to be a waste.
