ALBANY, N.Y. -- Local labor leaders gathered for the 7th annual Capital District Labor Federation Meeting. This year's event focused on issues regarding working families and the impact this fall's presidential election will have on them.

The federation believes a new president will bring positive change to the economy.

"We're heading in the wrong direction and that to get on the right track, we need to turn not 90 degrees, not 120 degrees, but 180 degrees. For many of us, for all of us, the elections this year are what we've been working for so long," said Arlene Holt-Baker of the labor group.

Holt- Baker is the first African American to be elected to one of the three highest positions in the federation.

Congressman Mike McNulty was also honored at this event.
