Catholic Teachers Strike Continues At Eight More Schools
After two days of pickets, the New York Archdiocese is set to meet with the Federation of Catholic School Teachers this afternoon.

The union charges that any raise being offered by the archdiocese is being negated by the high health care premiums.

Teachers from eight union schools went on strike this morning. Teachers are striking at St. Teresa, St. Sylvester and Sacred Heart on Staten Island and St. Paul in Manhattan. In the Bronx, teachers at St. Philip Neri, St. Barnabas High School, St. Thomas Aquinas and Our Lady of the Assumption will also be on strike.

Seven of the eight schools affected by the strike today will remain open for a normal school day. St. Barnabas High School was dismissed at 11:30 a.m.
