Considering that no so-called "free" trade agreement has ever protected worker's rights, wages, or the environment and has in fact only bolstered the coffers of the fat cats at the expense of of the rest of us:
Why are the Republicans, and President Bush so Hell bent on trying to pass this bad legislation?
Why don't they join the Democrats in putting pressure on the Columbian government to end these terrible atrocities instead of rushing to reward them with this trade pact?
Why isn't President Bush focusing on the needs of our country during these trying times instead of pushing deals for his corporate buddies?

WASHINGTON - Rep. Heath Shuler joined most Democrats in a vote that delays a final vote to ratify a free-trade agreement with Colombia.
Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., told President Bush this week that the administration and Congress needed to focus more on addressing domestic economic, including jobs and foreclosures. Shuler, D-Waynesville, joined mostly Democrats in a 224 to 195 vote to delay the start of the 90-day clock Congress has to approve or deny free-trade agreements.
“We’re first and foremost here to look out for the concerns of America’s working families,” Pelosi said.
