Cornell West makes me uneasy sometimes. I love him because of it.

Too bad he didn't agree with Obama's decision that the campaign was more important than Smiley's meeting. He did offer to send his wife, but Smiley turned them down. :shrug:

offering to send his wife, which was rejected. The first link explains the reasoning per Essence mag.

I know, it's confusing!:crazy: I thought the video was from this year, until a poster mentioned the date. I can't find anything from West from this year's event.

...His handlers could have arranged a live video presentation as a minimum. Where was Obama instead?

Never meant to "spin" anything.
After seeing the forum this year I was surfing and came upon this video. I liked what Dr. West said at the 08' forum and I think his 07' comments were poignant too. I figured if you watch the video you would hear and understand that it was on the day of Obama's announcement. I still think what Dr. West said is relevant now. I don't think what he said was critical. He's just telling people what HIS criteria is for a President. I think his criteria are poignant too.
