Geraldine Ferraro A SOHO building partially owned by U.S. Senate candidate Geraldine Ferraro and managed by her husband, John Zaccaro, has housed 35 Chinese garment-manufacturing companies over the past few years--many of them nonunion and some apparently illegal. http://www.villagevoice.com/news/9810,212225,143,1.html

5. Politics not for punks |

This guy's the real deal. You have to be, to keep smiling when people are accusing you of being an unqualified, muslim, affirmative action candidate. The fact that HRC hasn't ask Ferraro to step down speaks volumes. This is a calculated, deliberate move by Hillary to appeal to a certain segment of the population. Obama's the man for all the people, not just blacks. Clinton is making it more difficult to vote for her if she's the nominee. "Ready on day one" has been replaced by "Win at all costs." I hate this crap.

8. HuffPo: "...Ms. Ferraro's comment may be offensive and wrong, but that doesn't mean it's stupid. |
|
On the contrary: It looks pretty shrewd. Her words play very well into white resentment of affirmative action, by harping on the notion that less-qualified black people are getting jobs that should go to hard-working and experienced white people...." http://www.huffingtonpost.com/rj-eskow/geraldine-ferraros-ugly-_b_91075.html

and Obama's easy mastery of the situation has driven me inexorably into the Obama camp. I am now officially off the fence.

15. Thanks for sharing your perspective, Traveler. |

I appreciate hearing how this has played out to someone who was on the fence not long ago.
I was a draft-Gore supporter, then I went with John Edwards -- and I will always support Dennis K, but I hopped off the fence into Obama territory after seeing some people I really admired endorse Obama, including Grace Lee Boggs and Naomi Klein.
Welcome! :hi:

Well stated. He is first class, very different from the woman whose quest for power is so ugly and sickening to watch.

To be subjected to such disrespectful and insulting comments, he responds by saying he respects her and that she is an inspiration. High road indeed.
I'm not one of those idiots that won't vote for the "other" if nominated, but Clinton's campaign is getting uglier and uglier, and the prospect of possibly voting for her in the GE is feeling more and more like a chore rather than a proud moment. I'm voting D no matter what, but Clinton is losing my respect quickly. Sad.

12. LETTER SUPPORTING MS FERRERO |
|
Dear senator of new york, newspapers of new york, INS agents in the general area of new york,
There is a business in SOHO run by Mr Ferrero. RUMOR has it that it employs MANY illegal workers.
Ms Ferrero has implied that a public figure should be just that...public. And as she is now a public figure again, could someone please check out this business. It would be shameful, and I know against her principles, to be earning money off the illegal workers in SOHO.
Senator Clinton, I hope you can avoid the embarassment of this scandle. It is not that Ms Ferrero is a white woman...it is that she is a useless self-absorbed mouthy white woman--- but in her defense, I think her forey into public life and the opening of her books and bank accounts, similar to your own opening of your TAX files, is admirable.
Love Joe Public
p.s. if the phone rings at 3a.m. why not just have the bombers take off for IRAN

I think this was planned to provoke an angry response from Obama. He's too smart for that. He's not taking the bait. The only one who is going to cause Obama to lose is Obama himself.
