Your Daily Politics Video Blog: Gerry Ferraro is catching a lot of flak these days. But here at TPM we want to thank her. It's been an exhausting primary season. And we've needed some comic relief in a big way. Saying Barack Obama was lucky to be black may only have been one more 'unfortunate' statement in a string of beauts this election cycle. But going on every show currently on the air to express her outrage at the response to her comments has simply been comedy gold. Check out some of the best moments in today's episode of TPMtv.

2. If Obama were white with a common name
Hillary would of been out of the contest on Super Tuesday.
Barack Obama is a great campaigner! A great speech giver! He inspires people that is why he is where he is and this inspiration has nothing to do with him being black!
If he was white. If he did have a commmon name like John Smith he wouldn't of had the rumors of He's a Muslim or He doesn't salute the flag or he doesn't put his hand on his heart. That hurt him because people didn't know him then and those rumors never would of stuck. He would of campaigned the same way he has been on Super Tuesday it would of been landslides going to Obama or Johns Smith that is.

3. If You Obama Supporters Could See How You Look in The Mirror of Truth... It's NOT a Pretty Sight!
If You Obama Supporters Could See How You Look in The Mirror of Truth... It's NOT a Pretty Sight!

YOU are the bigots in this, calling everyone who doesn't agree with you --or has the nerve to actually have a different opinion from you -- "racists" or "Republicans."

Ferraro said she wouldn't have been up for VP when she was had she not been a woman, and Barack wouldn't be up for President if he wasn't black.

The two things have parallel structure and she didn't put him down any more than she put herself down.

You are so blind to any Truth when it comes to your man, and so outrageously unfair and injust -- just like the people who used to be those things to you!

And you are kicking the people who were NOT injust and unfair to you.

4. stop making your idiotic stereotypes
Obama supporters are not bigots. If you think so, why don't you head over to your normal website, www.freerepublic.com.

Is Hillary only a serious candidate because she's a woman? I didn't hear Ferraro making THAT statement.

Call her statement what it was -- racist and divisive.

6. She is explaining why 90% of black voters voted for Obama. It is strange, isn't it?

12. Blacks must be racist then.
:banghead:

also, I'd LOVE to see where 90% of blacks voted for Sharpton.

Sometimes I feel like it's the Twilight Zone around here.

10. oh come on!
100% of white voters of voted for someone white for the past 200 fucking years, but it's only "strange" when blacks do it?

You people really are racists. If a white person votes for a white candidate, well that's just the natural way! But if a black person votes for a black candidate, it just shows how primitive and irrational they are.

14. There is probably 5 % difference in the programs between Obama and Hillary.
What could account for 90% of black voters voting for Obama rather than for Hillary? Do you want to claim with good conscience that it is all based on merit?

16. no
i "claim with good conscience" that there is more than a 5% difference between the two. i would even say the difference is like night and day. which is why i have no intention of voting for hillary should she get the nomination. if you honestly think there is a 5% difference between barack and hillary, you haven't been paying attention.

would have known that Allan Keys made not make it out of Iowa.

19. i was talking about his senate campaign
against obama in 04, when the republicans had keyes run against obama because they felt they would have a better chance with a black candidate, because they thought the same way you and ferraro think.

20. So you are comparing apple with orange. That was the choice
between 2 blacks of diffrent parties. This is a choice between 2 of the same parties with diffrent race.

15. Gee, I wonder if that could mean that
the black folks actually think before they vote.

A black man may have an advantage on first impression with other black folks. But judging from my black friends, they are pretty darn good at sizing up a person.

Alan Keyes is no Barack Obama. That's for sure.

17. Great piece by Josh
been out of town for 5 days...TV but no computer, I was disgusted by her comments, as was my more moderate hubby, but I didn't know how it was playing on the nets...first thing I saw way Josh. Glad everyone agrees. She's an idiot. And going on TV to defend herself? Gee, why didn't she say "I didn't mean it to be racist, I'm sorry, what I meant was. . . people gave him a second look bec he's black" or something, to say "I'm not racist" just makes her look racist.
