After much searching I finally found TRINITY CHURCH'S YouTube site

Here's the link: http://www.youtube.com/user/TRINITYCHGO

After listening to many of his sermons, I'd probably attend if I lived in Chicago. Love, Service, God's Love

Of the tens of thousands of his sermons, only those 2 clips are known by the general public.

Looking at the number of hits on this site, NO ONE KNOWS ABOUT IT!

Send it to everyone in your address book, and ESPECIALLY THE MEDIA

With all the good works this church does, it would be a shame for their public image to be based on 2 clips that are not representative of Trinity Church or Rev. Wright.

2. I didn't realize that race-baiting and ignorance is a numbers game
So tell us; how many "good" sermons will it take to cancel out

"the government lied about inventing the HIV virus as a means of genocide against people of color"

or

"One 18-year-old white girl from Alabama gets drunk on a graduation trip to Aruba, goes off and 'gives it up' while in a foreign country, and that stays in the news for months! Maybe I am missing something!"

? Hmm? 50? 100? At what point does moral equivocation let Team Obama's conscience's off the hook?

3. I don't think it's about moral equivalency but it's about a broader perspective

5. Tell me about moral equivalency
as you rationalize the dead bodies stacking up on Clinton/McCain's "threshold".

7. Would these be the same "dead bodies" that are on Obama's hands as well?
As he voted to fund the war on numerous occasions?

A little less hypocrisy or changing-of-the-subject, please.

11. It's about positive PR. The wingnuts have defined them so far
Pennsylvania, Indiana, North Carolina, West Virginia - all upcoming primaries. We need to do some heavy duty PR.

This video is by Rev. Jane Fisler Hoffman - a white UCC minister, Conference Head of UCC IL, and a member of Trinity UCC.

I'm sure Rev. Wright's 2 clips will have conjured up stereotypes. It's important the whole story is told.

Obama's election may depend on it.

15. if you learn a bit of history you might be able to understand better
the mindset where this man is coming from. the government DID do some crazy shit to black americans:

Tuskegee Study of Untreated Syphilis in the Negro Male
The Tuskegee Study of Untreated Syphilis in the Negro Male<1> also known as the Tuskegee Syphilis Study, Pelkola Syphilis Study, Public Health Service Syphilis Study or the Tuskegee Experiments was a clinical study, conducted between 1932 and 1972 in Tuskegee, Alabama, in which 399 (plus 201 control group without syphilis) poor — and mostly illiterate — African American sharecroppers were denied treatment for Syphilis.

This study became notorious because it was conducted without due care to its subjects, and led to major changes in how patients are protected in clinical studies. Individuals enrolled in the Tuskegee Syphilis Study did not give informed consent and were not informed of their diagnosis; instead they were told they had "bad blood" and could receive free medical treatment, rides to the clinic, meals and burial insurance in case of death in return for participating.<2>

In 1932, when the study started, standard treatments for syphilis were toxic, dangerous, and of questionable effectiveness. Part of the original goal of the study was to determine if patients were better off not being treated with these toxic remedies.

By 1947, penicillin had become the standard treatment for syphilis. Prior to this discovery, syphilis frequently led to a chronic, painful and fatal multisystem disease. Rather than treat all syphilitic subjects with penicillin and close the study, or split off a control group for testing penicillin; the Tuskegee scientists withheld penicillin and information about penicillin, purely to continue to study how the disease spreads and kills. Participants were also prevented from accessing syphilis treatment programs that were available to other people in the area. The study continued until 1972, when a leak to the press resulted in its termination.

The Tuskegee Syphilis Study, cited as "arguably the most infamous biomedical research study in U.S. history",<3> led to the 1979 Belmont Report, the establishment of the National Human Investigation Board, and the requirement for establishment of Institutional Review Boards.

17. Yes, you're about the 8th person or so to name-drop Tuskegee
And I will paste my same response;

Purposefully infecting blacks with syphilis was horrid, but there were similar medical practices performed in that era, such as the sterilization of the mentally disabled or the forced institutionalization of homosexuals.

That is a far cry from believing that the US government engineered one of the worst and most destructive retroviruses in human history, don't you think?

perspective that we can perhaps glimpse where it stems from

My pastor pounded the pulpit so hard it scared me. He makes Rev. Wright look like Billy Graham in comparison.

9. Email everyone you can. America doesn't know the truth about Trinity Church
If all we saw of a stranger was the worst 10 seconds of their lives our opinions wouldn't be balanced.

Thanks for sending out this link to everyone you know, and ask them to do the same.

Let's let people hear what Trinity Church is really all about.

Problem is, wingnuts won't listen to more than the few seconds they know.
